In this exhibition, we will introduce Ms. Yokoi's red works in different mediums such as oil, lithograph, egg tempera, etc., which have various expressions: the dazzling and graceful red of poppies, the red of autumn leaves burning crimson, the red of sunset almost vermilion with the warmth of the sun...etc.
Lithograph Exhibition “Poems of the Four Seasons”
October 25 - November 30, 2008
This exhibition features lithographs produced between the 1960s and the 1990s. Unlike oil paintings and tempera works, the abstractly expressed forms of seasonal flowers and landscapes are completed with more vivid colors and bolder compositions. These are very valuable works produced by Ms. Yokoi, who was directly involved in the entire process of lithography, which is said to be the most complex and time-consuming of all printmaking processes.
Oil Painting Exhibition “Prelude”
November 17, 2007 - January 13, 2008
This exhibition introduces the transition of Yokoi Teruko's techniques until she adopted abstract expression, including early oil paintings made in Ms. Yokoi's hometown of Tsushima City before she left Japan and works made in San Francisco and New York from 1953 after she moved to the United States.
