"Teruko Yokoi :
Observing Mountains, Listening to the Wind"

February 18 – July 20, 2026

Mountains are not merely to be “seen,” but to be “observed” with the heart.
The wind is not merely to be “heard,” but to be “listened to” with attentive ears.
Inspired by her childhood walks in nature with her father, Teruko Yokoi has continued to attune herself to the voice of the natural world.

KODOMO ART PROJECT
”Exhibition of Flowers and Greenery 2026”

July 24, 2026 – August 30, 2026

Painter Teruko Yokoi painted colorful seasonal scenes and flowers. Before her death, Yokoi wanted children to “acquire the ability to enrich their lives with imagination, sensitivity, and expression through the experience of being in touch with nature, observing life, and expressing themselves. In resonance with her wish, the Teruko Yokoi Hinageshi Art Museum is pleased to present the fifth “Art Competition”. This exhibition will feature the works of Teruko Yokoi as well as the prize-winning and honorable mention works of the competition. We hope you will enjoy the competition between Teruko Yokoi and children.

“Teruko Yokoi :
East and West in Resonance”

September 3, 2026 – February 7, 2027

Teruko Yokoi was born in Japan and, shortly after the war, traveled alone to the United States. She later settled in Switzerland, where she continued her artistic practice. Her works naturally blend the delicate sensibility and awareness of ma—the Japanese concept of space and interval rooted in traditional painting—with the expansive use of color and form she encountered in the West.
