“Nostalgia: Teruko Yokoi's Thoughts on Japan”

《Untitled》
1965, Oil paint on canvas

Teruko Yokoi had been based overseas for 67 years until her death at the age of 96. During this time, she sensed “the splendor of Japan that she could see only because she was away from Japan“. This yearning for Japan has motivated her to create new works. In this exhibition, Teruko Yokoi’s longing for Japan will be on display in a number of works that she has sublimated into art.
